Carrying out another rewire this week, new board fitted a couple of years ago, cables at board look relatively new. Went in to attic to find this, old rubber cables going to sockets and lights joined together and not even contained within a junction box. When disconnecting fittings the rubber wiring was so brittle it fell apart in my hands.
This is why it’s so important to get your property inspected and tested to make sure it is safe for continued use.
